Experience: I have been working at LRC Rheinland-Pfalz Baumholder for more than two years. Before that, I was an Operations Officer with the 407th Army Field Support Brigade at Fort Hood, Texas for about 3.5 years. Before that I was managing director of the LRC Rheinland-Pfalz for about 11 years and company traffic officer for two years.

Other Service: I served 24 years as an active duty soldier and senior transport corporal before retiring as a senior sergeant.

Hometown: Radcliff, Kentucky

Q: Can you explain what you do and what you are responsible for at LRC Rheinland-Pfalz Baumholder?

A: I am responsible for all installation level logistics supporting the US Army Garrison Rhineland-Palatinate and their tenant units in the Baumholder Military Community. This includes supplies and services, catering services, property stewardship, the central dispensary, all subsistence items and rations supporting this region and Eastern Europe, personal property, driver testing and training, fleet operations, and transportation quality assurance and control, and plans and operations to address emergency and crisis response of the garrison supporting emergency operations and other needs. I am responsible for almost 100 employees at LRC Rheinland-Pfalz Baumholder who do all this work.

Q: Why is the mission of LRC Rheinland-Pfalz Baumholder so important?

A: We are here to support the soldiers, family members and civilians within the Baumholder Military Community. We have a direct impact on their well-being and quality of life. I firmly believe that everything we do is directly related to the readiness of the tactical units in our area of ​​responsibility. And when the soldiers are deployed or on support exercises, we take care of their families. What we do is very important because it has a direct impact on their well-being and commitment. Headquartered here in the Baumholder Military Community, the 16th Supply Brigade has a far-reaching mission across a wide spectrum of theaters of operations here in Europe and Africa. And the LRC Rheinland-Pfalz Baumholder supports them directly.

Q: What do you enjoy about your job and what motivates you?

A: I enjoy having a direct impact on the soldiers and families at Baumholder as they experience their European tours here. I’m happy to help make life easier for them during their assignment in Germany. I enjoy working with the soldiers and civilians and their families here in the Baumholder military community – but also with the national employees on site. It is truly a blessing to work with the local staff of our host country. Not everyone has this opportunity. I have a great team here that supports our community really well and I think our reputation speaks for itself. We really want to be here, and we want to do everything we can to make this a better place for all of our soldiers and families who are deployed here. That’s one of the Bundeswehr’s insider tips – Baumholder is a beautiful community and that motivates me anew every day.

LRC Rheinland-Pfalz and 405th AFSB: The LRC Rheinland-Pfalz is one of seven LRCs under the command and control of the 405th AFSB. LRCs perform installation logistical support and services that include supply, maintenance, transportation and catering management, as well as apparel dispensing facility operations, hazardous materials management, personal property and household goods, personal travel, and non-tactical vehicle and garrison equipment management. When it comes to providing day-to-day installation services, LRC Rhineland-Palatinate directs, manages and coordinates a variety of operations and activities in support of USAG Rhineland-Palatinate.
