What’s up, gamers? Back here with another report, this time about the new Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis updates, like a new line of weapons, the ability to create playlists if you have a bunch of songs from the jukebox that you like, apart from one brand new Level Cap and Battle Area to accompany it. Now let’s start!
First, we introduce the new line of weapons, the Kukurohziat line, which is specifically derived from the weapons of the main enemies in the game, the DOLLS. Starting from the featured sword, it includes a whole range of weapon types such as the Bujin katana, the launcher, the assault rifle and others that give good Lv to others. 27-and-up weapon line to rely on outside of the first ones to arrive, if not hope for a possible multi-weapon camouflage someday that could possibly be dubbed *Kukurohziat Almati or *DOLLS Almati. A whole camo line for it that includes everything except the unavailable one which is currently the Gunblade or if you are a JP player the Gunslash.
Next up are the changes in the Retem region. Everyone’s favorite battle zone, Retem Alnothe or Al-Nossa on the JP server, has finally received a new rank, the Lv. 40 players and helps them get the current cap of Lv. 45 is considerably quick with its small area and large enemy spawn rate, as well as the limited questline that gives you the Kvaris Expedition Prep Ticket, which we’ll see using once the new region arrives in June.
For those re-exploring Retem, keeping an eye out for more Red Boxes is a good thing, as a title can be obtained upon completing this side quest. Rank 2 has been unlocked for the Retem Urgent quests, and while they don’t have any enemy lineup changes, a good drop rate for rare items is seen considering the Kukurohziat weapons can drop upon completion, but it’s still hanging depending on which.
The MAG Playlist is a programmable music playlist that allows you to create one of your own choice from unlocked tracks in the game. If you have numerous tracks on each track registered in the jukebox, you can access them and create a pretty impressive playlist. That being said, being able to cut out specific parts of songs for listening is a pretty good way to edit them if you just want a medley of the good parts, but programming can be quite a task unless you’re really into it ready it. Your playlist, ultimately your rules.
Another point we should talk about is the Equalizing Enemies. These guys buff other enemies in a radius making them harder to defeat thus making them a priority target to defeat and leaving the others vulnerable. In one fell swoop, enemies are easier to destroy, sort of like a domino effect. The effect is similar to destroying the growths on boosted enemies, but on a larger scale, making better use of area of effect abilities to mow them all down, which is key if you want to get more EXP at a faster pace.
The new Kvaris region will appear in June. From the scorching desert of Retem to the freezing mountains of Kvaris and looking at the outline of the area from afar it seems like it’s going to be a really harsh area with lots of rocky outcrops leading to pitfalls in the lower areas of the region .
Another thing other players can look forward to is the Red Box Hunt, as it either gives out the farming gacha currency or the free in-game currency for normal use.
It looks like we have something to look forward to once June arrives and it will be quite a development once it arrives like area exploration, another Red Box hunt, more quests and more recipes to go with Build as the new region offers new DOLLS, FORMERS , TAMS plus its own flora.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam).
