Here’s how to make these TikTok pasta chips vegan


There’s a reason recipes go viral on TikTok: they’re simple, fun, and delicious. These “pasta chips” live up to the hype. The trick is to turn cooked noodles into crispy “chips” in a hot air fryer or pan, then season them with cheese, garlic, and spices, and dip them (like a chip) in a creamy sauce. Influencers and food bloggers are showing us how to improve our pasta habit with this easy, quick and delicious recipe that takes less than thirty minutes and takes a second to know that this recipe is a winner.

Popular food blogger Emily Chan, also known as @bostonfoodgram on TikTok, was the developer of OG TikTok Pasta Chips when she shared her first version of the recipe in April. She announced that she found the recipe on Delish and decided to bring it to the media with her personal opinion on the taste profile. Chan’s viral TikTok video took the trend by storm when it hit over 2 million views. She cooked the Farfalle pasta, drained it, added cheese, olive oil, onion, and garlic powder to the bowl and put it in a hot air fryer, a cheesy creation.

Like most food trends, recipes are also subject to the telephone effect. Now people from all over the world are creating their own personal pasta chip recipes and experimenting with different cooking styles. We’ve sorted hundreds of pasta chip recipes to find the best to share with our readers. We asked food blogger Jyothi Rajesh, also known as @currytrail on Instagram, for her unique pasta chip recipe with bow tie, parmesan, chili powder, pepper and garlic powder for our readers, and we made it plant-based. Crunchy pasta chips

For 4 people


  • 1 pound of fly noodles
  • Olive oil for deep-frying
  • ¼ cup grated vegan parmesan cheese
  • 1 ½ teaspoon red chilli powder or cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of ground pepper
  • 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
  • Salt to taste


  • Marinara sauce or
  • Vegan cheesy alfredo sauce


  1. Cook fly pasta according to the instructions on the packet. Drain and dry completely in a kitchen towel. No traces of moisture should be left out.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a deep pan.
  3. Line a baking sheet with kitchen paper to drain the fried noodle chips.
  4. Once the oil gets hot, add the cooked bowtie noodles to the oil for frying one at a time.
  5. Fry the cooked Farfalle noodles in the oil for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Take to a tray lined with kitchen paper to drain and season with salt, chilli powder, garlic powder and pepper powder while it is still hot.
  7. Finally, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the noodle chips and serve immediately.

Test a small amount of cooked (well-drained) pasta in a deep pan. If you’ve drained really well, it should work fine, pasta will fry well.
If you find noodles sticking together, toss the cooked noodles in plain flour and then fry them to make your noodles nice and crispy.
