Vegan Chocolate Lovers – Your prayers for dairy-free cocoa have been answered. Hershey’s is launching a range of vegan chocolate bars. And we can’t wait to try them out!
The dairy-free delicacies are currently only available from Soul Miner’s Garden. The vegan food truck operates in Charlotte, North Carolina and offers a range of plant-based options including nachos, veggie bowls, and tasty side dishes like kale and rosemary-garlic fries. And now customers can also indulge themselves with a vegan chocolate bar.
Soul Miner’s Garden has announced the new candy bars Facebook, writing: “VEGAN CHOCOLATE WARNING! We got our hands on these @hersheys plant-based candy bars and think everyone should try them. Visit us next week and don’t forget to add one to your order! “
Sasha Quinn, the owner of the food truck, says she accidentally came across the chocolates while shopping at Target. “I stumbled across all of those vegan Hershey bars in a big box in the store, but they weren’t labeled,” she explains. “I decided to buy everything that was outside, thinking that we could sell them on the truck because this is my first time seeing them.”
Hershey’s Oat Made bars are available in flavors such as Extra Creamy Almonds & Sea Salt and Classic Dark. The company has not yet announced further details on the market launch of its new bars. LIVEKINDLY turned to for more details.
Hershey’s launches vegan chocolate bars
In February, the chocolate company first hinted at vegan candy bars. The brand announced plans to launch vegan and dairy-free sweets as part of its “Better-for-You” initiative.
The company didn’t specify what type of vegan products it would be bringing to market. But in a Press release, the company revealed that the company planned to “expand its future portfolio to include more reduced-sugar, organic and plant-based alternatives while expanding its classic range of popular products.”
Hershey’s isn’t the first candy giant to launch vegan candy bars. In June, Nestlé launched vegan KitKats called KitKat V in Sainsbury’s UK supermarket. The dairy-free treats consist of a crispy wafer covered with rice milk chocolate.
Louise Barrett, director of the Nestlé Confectionery Product Technology Center, said the company “worked very hard to find the right balance between the dairy alternative and cocoa. The result is a vegan chocolate that we are very proud of and that we hope will be enjoyed by KitKat fans everywhere. ”
A number of vegan companies also produce dairy-free candy bars. Go Max Go makes dairy-free versions of classic candy bars, including Snickers, Twix, and Milky Way. Nelly’s Organics makes vegan, fair trade chocolate bars in varieties such as. here Peanut butter coconut and Caramel nougat.
