Honest Burgers starts first vegan restaurant V Honest in collaboration with Fable Food – vegconomist


British chain Honest burgers is the launch of V Honest, its first all-vegan restaurant. The menu will feature vegan versions of some of the chain’s existing burgers as well as a selection of new burgers – including those from. developed mushroom-based options Fabulous food.

New for Veganuary is the Teriyaki Plant with a plant-based patty with fable pulled shiitake mushrooms, teriyaki sauce, applewood vegan cheese, grilled peppers, spring onions, umami mayo and salad with homemade rosemary chips. This burger will be available in all locations in January.

The Pulled Shiitake Nuggets, consisting of Fable Pulled Shiitake Fritters with spring onions and umami mayo, are exclusive to V Honest. In addition to the plant-based versions of the popular Honest and Tribute, the new restaurant will also offer other brand new options such as buffalo, pesto and chilli burgers.

Honest Burgers already offers some meat-free options at all locations. These are a zucchini and onion fritters fried in the south, a plant-based cheeseburger and a vegan Christmas burger for the holidays. The latter consists of a plant-based patty with vegan bacon, smoked cheese, cranberry sauce and rocket.

International expansion for fable food

Fable Food is an Australian brand that uses mushrooms to make very realistic meat alternatives. Last year the company told the vegconomist that a lot of people had tried their products without realizing that it wasn’t beef.

Fable had a successful year in 2021. In August, the company raised $ 6.5 million in grants and announced a partnership with celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal to create a burger for Australian chain Grill’d. Then, last month, Fable entered the US by launching it at the vegan restaurant chain Beatnic, formerly known as byChloe.
