Columbus National Children’s Hospital announced a five-year plan for $ 3.3 billion on June 16. $ 3.3 billion comes from a combination of philanthropy, operations and debt financing. The plan includes investment in new programs, talent and facilities for better care and research.

One of the investment focuses is integrated clinical care and research. The hospital will expand its clinical and scientific faculties and launch a new fetal medicine program. New facilities built on the plan include a new 12-story inpatient hospital tower, an orthopedic and surgical center, and several research facilities. The plan will also improve the permanent facilities.

Additional investment will also fund school health services, community-wide efforts to reduce infant mortality, and attempts to provide stable, quality housing and resources for economic development in resource-poor areas. This improves health equity.
