CAMP WALKER, Republic of Korea – Spacious rooms, lots of storage space, new furniture and modern appliances – the USAG Daegu residential towers give service staff and their families a piece of home in the Republic of South Korea.
The USAG Daegu housing team hosted an Open House at Camp Walker on October 1st to showcase some of the community’s attractive housing options. USAG Daegu plans to open a new apartment complex – Tower 3 – in early 2022.
USAG Daegu strives to be a mission of choice by providing excellent accommodations, quality of life and programs for military communities. The garrison supports the army’s mission through people’s priorities and efforts, readiness and modernization.
Army leaders and IMCOM are committed to improving the accommodation of soldiers and their families in facilities around the world. U.S. Army Quality of Life priorities include: Housing, health care, child care, spousal employment, PCS relocations, and soldier support and resilience.
The construction of Army Family Housing Towers in Daegu is named after the three kingdoms of Korea – Baekje, Shilla, Goguryeo. The fourth, called Kaya, was a Confederate Kingdom of Korea near what is now Daegu. The Army Family Housing Tower project at Camp Walker directly improves the quality of life for soldiers and their families.

Each tower also has American appliances, which makes it more convenient and familiar for people who move here, “said Welsh.” The bedrooms will be a little bigger than what you find outside the post office. It uses 110 volts so families who live here can bring their devices from the US if they want.
“The primary school bus stops right outside the towers and takes them to school, so it’s very convenient for them,” said Welsh. it’s just a lot more convenient. “
